Hi everyone! My name is Lieselotte Vantomme and I am from Belgium. I work at the university of applied sciences Howest in Kortrijk in West-Flanders. I became an innovation broker when I started as a business coach for students at Howest. started this job last year ,during the corona-crisis, this made it quite challenging but I still managed to support our students in their entrepreneurial adventure. Funny enough, during these challenging times we see a lot of new entrepreneurs starting.
By being an innovation broker, I want to inspire our student startups to look further than our borders. Having international connections gives our students and researchers a bigger chance of success in their startup. Innoquarter is also a great way to show an international audience the great ideas and Innovations the Howest Students and researcher come up with. In this safe test environment they cannot only test their innovation in Belgium, but hopefully also abroad, that will help them to find out if their idea could work outside of our little bubble. The faster you know these things the faster you can go to market or pivot your idea.
I’m super excited about the upcoming festival season and how the testing in this mini-society will work.
Looking forward to see you at one of our testing spots!
