Did you ever test something from Innofest? Or did you at one of our European festival test places? Then you were a guinea pig at an Innofest or InnoQuarter test. In collaboration with Innofest and InnoQuarter, Oerol has been using its festival as a living test environment for several years. This allows entrepreneurs to test their prototypes in the most realistic setting with innovative solutions to social challenges. This year we do this from home via #testingathome.
The program:
16-6 16:00 Intro session Innofest
17-6 09:00 Grünten breakfast session
17-6 16:00 Ilai
6-6 10:00 pm Tea
18-6 16:00 WaterFUL
19-6 09:00 KRUSH breakfast session
19-6 16:00 Willicroft
What is in the Innofest Testbox?
In the test box you will find six prototypes from six different entrepreneurs. During our live show Innofest Test Teevee they all get a separate moment to realize their test wishes.
Below you will find more information about the innovations plus instructions for testing and storage. It is also stated for each product when the test moment takes place.
Ilai – Banana leaves eating utensils
We prefer not to use them anymore: plastic plates and cutlery that you throw away once. But then there must be good alternatives. Ilai makes 100% biodegradable eating utensils from fallen and harvested leaves. The entrepreneurs ask the test panel to use these boards intensively. They want to find out how long the material will last and whether it is a user-friendly product.
Test information: Please keep the product in a dry place.
Innofest Test Teevee: Wednesday 17-6 at 4 pm we will test this product together.
This conversation will largely be in English.
Grünten – “Ready-to-eat” vegetable breakfast.
More than three quarters of the Dutch do not reach the recommended amount of vegetables per day. Grünten’s mission is to boost that number, starting with breakfast. Grünten is a new ‘ready-to-eat’ oatmeal product with a quarter of the recommended daily intake of vegetables. The entrepreneurs ask the test panel what they think of the product and the branding.
Test information: The test box contains two packages. The large packaging (shelf life through Monday 6-6) is for tasting prior to the program and the small packaging (shelf life through Thursday 6-6) is intended for the live test moment itself. Please keep both packages in the refrigerator.
Innofest Test Teevee: Wednesday 17-6 at 09.00 hours we will test this product together. Sit in front of it like you normally do when you eat cereal breakfast.
This product is from Innofest, the regional version of InnoQuarter in The Netherlands.
Tea: Nature-restoring herbal tea.
Many insects are threatened with extinction. Large farm landscapes with little biodiversity often have no place for these critters. Planting tea herbs on the side of meadows increases biodiversity and creates a new and green business model for farmers. The entrepreneurs ask the test panel to take a critical look at various positioning options.
Test information: Please keep the product in a dry place and take it with you to the live test moment.
Innofest Test Teevee: Thursday 6-6 at 10:00 am we will test this product together. Sit down like you normally would when drinking a cup of tea.
This product is from Innofest, the regional version of InnoQuarter in The Netherlands.
WaterFUL – Soft drink from microalgae.
A soft drink made from microalgae that absorbs CO2 instead of emissions, is very healthy and perhaps also tasty. The FUL Foods entrepreneurs make the very first batch of their new drink available to our test panel. They are happy to receive feedback from the panel about the taste, price, possible points of sale and the positioning of the product. In this way they hope to achieve a successful market launch.
Test information: Please like to have cooled the product before testing it.
Innofest Test Teevee: Thursday 6-6 pm at 4 pm we will test this product together. Prepare for a refreshing tasting.
This product is from Innofest, the regional version of InnoQuarter in The Netherlands.
KRUSH: Cereal from saved foods.
A third of the food is lost while it is still fine to eat. That is why KRUSH entrepreneurs make breakfast products with saved food, such as seeds that are too small and crooked vegetables and fruit. The entrepreneurs ask the test panel what they think of the new taste and the way of communicating.
Test information: Please keep the product in a dry place and take it with you to the live test moment.
Innofest Test Teevee: Friday 19-6 at 09.00 hours we will test this product together. Sit in front of it like you normally do when you eat cereal breakfast.
This product is from Innofest, the regional version of InnoQuarter in The Netherlands.
Willicroft – Cheese from plants.
No matter how tasty cheese is, the ecological footprint remains large. Willicroft’s founders want to make it easier for people to switch to a cheese-free diet. They do this by making cheese from plants that are as tasty – if not tastier – as the dairy version. To appeal to a wider audience, they want to sharpen their communication. Through the test panel, they hope to find out which target groups are interested in the product and how they can best reach these target groups.
Test information: Please keep the product refrigerated.
Innofest Test Teevee: Friday 19-6 at 4 pm we will test this product together. So get ready for a drink and have your drink and other treats ready.

Innofest Test Teevee
The broadcasts of Innofest Test Teevee can be watched live via a video call and last approximately 30 minutes. There is an Innofest location on the Imaginary Island of Oerol where you can find the link to this video call. We test the products together during the broadcasts. So be ready with the materials, but wait a little longer to prepare and taste.
Any questions or ambiguities? On Tuesday 17-6 at 4 p.m. there is an introduction moment in which we take a week
